This is what it’s all about. Country artists are pretty amazing when it comes to giving back, and Tennessee needs it now more than ever.
“Kenny Chesney and the Country Music Association (CMA) have teamed up to make a $500,000 donation to assist families affected by recent wildfires in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Chesney and the CMA each contributed $250,000 for the cause, with a portion of those proceeds earmarked for Dolly Parton’s My People Fund, which provides $1,000 each month to Sevier County families who lost their homes in the wildfires.
Taylor Swift and the Academy of Country Music have teamed up to donate $200,000 to Dolly Parton’s upcoming telethon for victims of the recent wildfires in eastern Tennessee. According to MusicRow, ACM’s charitable arm, Lifting Lives, has pledged $100,000 to Smoky Mountains Rise: A Benefit for the My People Fund, airing December 13 at 8 p.m. ET.”
