Kane Brown has partnered with the Make Room organization to draw attention to the issues faced by struggling renters in America. “When I was younger, my mom and I lived in a car because we didn’t have anywhere to go. After graduating from high school, even though I was working, I didn’t have enough money to pay rent so I stayed with my Nana,” the “What If” singer recalls in a press release about his involvement. “I’m proud to partner with Make Room to help other people who have been in similar housing situations.” As part of the partnership, Brown will participate in a congressional briefing at the Hart Building on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. on September 12. The goal of the briefing is to expose the human suffering and societal costs of the rental housing crisis and reinforce the importance of placing affordable rental housing on the national agenda.
